Are you sitting down?

Lazy!

(Or legitimately unable to stand, in which case please give me a moment to remove the foot from my mouth.)

Git on up and cheer for me, I’ll be here today: Laugh Out Loud

I know, right?  Someone actually let me guest post! Alert the infirmary there’s a patient on the loose!

Which is just as well since I got no time to write blog and need to attend to some pressing matters instead (read: housework.)

Mama (still me) likes to avoid her housework at all costs. So lately I’ve just been stacking things all over the house in smallish, mediumish and largish piles.  The piles appear to be unionizing and I heard whisperings of revolt.  It makes me nervous…

Can’t write. Piles will eat me.

Can’t cook. Piles will eat me.

Can’t sleep. Piles will eat me.

It’s time to get rid of some piles/stuff/clutter/crap/tchotchkes (spellcheck tried to correct that to CROTCHLESS, awesome!)

We simply cannot live this way anymore.  We have too much.  We need to give it all away, far away (or sell it on Ebay.)

Except for this, this we are keeping…

i always tell the husband that if we could burn all of our crap and just start over again i’d be so happy. beats rifling through and dealing with the madness that are the many piles that are slowly but surely becoming one large mass. *sigh*

What a timely post for me to read! I just finished de-cluttering (spellcheck tried to auto that to clittering- wtf) my house in preparation for my garage sale on Saturday. It. Feels. So. Freaking. Good. Now I can’t stop. By the time Saturday rolls around my kids are only going to have a tin can on a string to play with. Good luck with your piles. I hope you get to them before they get to you.

  10. stopping by from the sits group what a funny post i feel the same way sometimes

  11. JDaniel4's Mom says:

I need to purge too. Congrats on the guest post!

    Stopping from Tribe Hedgehog.

  12. I love your writing style…cracking me up! Housework is my achilles heel…never gets done. I hate it.

    Yay for the Hedgehog Tribe!

  13. Livy says:

It feels so good to purge! Do it! Seriously, I just went through a major cleaning and reordering the house and it is amazing how much calmer it makes me feel.

    Your baby is adorable.

I found you through SITS hedgehog.

  14. Jen says:

High five for avoiding house work! I do it all the time in fact I haven’t used my vacuum in so long it needs a good dusting! ;)

Anyway, you are daughter is adorable. I am checking out your blog because we are in the same tribe on SITS. It is really nice to meet you.

  15. Ash says:

You’re setting a good example – piles are a part of life. Trust me on this. My mother is OCD about a clean house, makes me feel like a completely inferior wife/mother.

Why would you want to lay that on that beautiful child?

And Lord have mercy she’s scrumptious!

  16. Oh how I love to purge! If something wants to stay in my house it must fall into the Use It or Love it category. All other crappy little items are outta here. (And yes, the Love It category is tricky…this is why I still own some awesome boots that no longer fit. Love them too too much to toss! And maybe my Doodlebug will want them one day.)

  17. A. Dora. Ble. (Haha.)

    Seriously.

I hear you on the “getting the junk out” thing. I went through that in April – purged the house of everything I hadn’t used in a year and donated it all to a local motel that’s helping the homeless here.

The day after, I REALLY wanted a foot bath in the little foot bath thing I haven’t used for three years. Isn’t that how it goes?

Oh well. Hope someone else had happy feet because of it.

Is that an amber teething necklace? Does your daughter like it? I was wondering if the hype was true?

    • Yuliya says:

Yes it is! So I don’t know about if the hype is true or not, here is my experience: I put it on her before she was really teething so I don’t know if I have an accurate point of reference. But there was one morning I forgot to put it on (I take it off for baths and forgot to put it back on after that) and she was significantly fussier, my mom was visiting and pointed out that she didn’t have it on. I put it on and less fussy! Coincidence? I don’t know…”they” (scientists?) say that the placebo effect can account for as much as 90% success, so I guess my point is as long as I believe it’s working, it works!
